From El Caño in the west, to Torti in the eastern interior. This is a photo taken at a mediation session with campasinos and also with indigenous people. It was in the upper 90s and the dewpoint was near 100.

The stone pillars are where the volunteers were tied as preparations were made for them to join the chieftain to journey into the afterlife. These pillars have been here a very long time, but now there is investigation.

The adventure begins on Wednesday when I board a Delta flight to Panama City. Should be a 12-hour day all tolled. Final details on accounts, health insurance, good-byes, etc. are happening. A bit of panic (“What have I done?”) and lots of excitement (archeological dig on Friday!).
